This vibrant green space is dedicated to fostering deeper connections between people, nature and the environment. Established and nurtured by local volunteers to provide a beautiful haven for people and wildlife as well as a source of fresh, locally grown fruit.
We invite you to take a walk through the orchard where you will find a mosaic of habitats that supports birds, small mammals, and pollinating insects. Visit throughout the year to witness the orchard trees transitioning from delicate blossoms in spring to full, ripe fruit in summer and autumn. Please feel free to pick fruit when it’s in ready but be sure to leave some for others.
This orchard represents the power of community collaboration, where families, volunteers and local organisations come together to cultivate and care for this shared space. Every tree found here is part of a larger effort to plant a million trees in Hampshire by 2050. Together, we’re growing a legacy in leaves!
This orchard was planted on 9th March 2025 by local volunteers. A community effort, for the benefit of the community. It contains 15 mixed fruit trees: apple, pear, damson and apricot. A mixture of heritage varieties and heavy cropping modern varieties. It is hoped that as trees mature they will help to dry up the ground, improve air quality and reduce traffic noise.
In time we hope it will become a place for everyone to enjoy blossom, shade, wildlife and fruit. For it to be at its best we need everyone to be involved, water them when they are dry, repair any damage when you see it and help keep the area litter free.
